No two days are the same for Shahidah. Whether it’s finance, real estate or volunteering, the only common denominators during Shahidah’s endeavors are her exceptional work ethic, diverse skill set, and continuous ability to bring value. One day she can be found leading a financial literacy workshop and the next day, analyzing distressed investment properties.
As a former model, Shahidah lived abroad for an extensive period of time and saw the world from an angle that few have. During her time in Africa and Europe, she was exposed to diverse people, cultures, and experiences. Because Shahidah is one who always strives to build on her knowledge and experiences, she also backpacked through Central America and Asia after settling back home in the United States. Her extensive experience working with culturally and functionally diverse individuals and teams has enabled her to effectively collaborate with those from a variety of backgrounds.
After fashion modeling, Shahidah set her sights on financial modeling, and embarked on a career in banking. She made the unconventional career change by studying at one of the country’s top business schools, earning an MBA from the University of Michigan, where she was a recipient of the Consortium For Graduate Study in Management Fellowship. Shahidah is also a proud Hoya, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University.
Always in service, it was her experience volunteering as a financial coach and entrepreneur that fueled her desire to have a larger impact and to pursue an MBA as a means to do so. The Newark, NJ native feels both privileged and compelled to share the keys to financial empowerment that she learned well into adulthood and that many in her community are never taught. Outside of the office, Shahidah enjoys outdoor activities, including running to camping. Her clients are also a top priority for her. She relishes the opportunity to help others carve out plans to live their best lives and secure their corporate and personal financial futures.
